The Grumman TBM is a version of the TBF Avenger torpedo bomber, but is produced under license from General Motors. The TBM-3 aircraft began production in mid-1944 and was based on the TBM-1C aircraft. More than a dozen versions of this model were created, of which we should name: TBM-3 (the basic serial series with a more powerful engine), TBM-3D (a version with a centimeter radar) or TBM-3N (an aircraft adapted to night operations). It is worth noting that in 1944, 222 TBM-3 aircraft were added to the British Royal Navy under the designation Avenger Mk. III.
