Acrylic paint Dark Slate Gray Arcus A375 Dark grey
High-quality semi-gloss acrylic or enamel paint MAP Dark Slate Gray for scale models and historical miniatures. MAP Dark Slate Gray Color Guide:
MAP Dark Slate Gray is a gray color with a greenish tint used for naval aviation camouflage.
MAP Dark Slate Gray was introduced in 1939 with the introduction of the Temperate Sea Scheme, used to camouflage RAF and FAA Coastal Command aircraft. In addition to dark gray navy, this scheme also called for the use of extra dark navy gray for the upper surfaces, while the lower surfaces were to be painted sky gray or sky blue for the FAA or white for anti-submarine aircraft.
In 1943-1944, Royal Air Force Coastal Command stopped using dark gray. The upper surfaces were to be completely painted in an extra dark navy grey. Later, immediately after the end of the Second World War, the Royal Navy also abandoned the use of dark gray grey, echoing the camouflage of the RAF Coastal Command.
