Acrylic paint Light Mediterranean Blue Arcus A367 Light Mediterranean blue
High quality semi-gloss light blue RAF acrylic or enamel paint for scale models and historical miniatures. MAP Lieutenant Mediterranean Blue:
MAP Light Mediterranean Blue was a unique color used primarily in special schemes designed for use in the Mediterranean theater of operations.
Light Mediterranean Blue, along with Dark Mediterranean Blue, was used in the special camouflage of RAF Coastal Command aircraft in the Mediterranean. According to this scheme, the lower sides were painted blue or repainted Special Night for night operation.
Light Mediterranean Blue can also be used as a substitute for Blue to paint the undersides of Royal Air Force aircraft in desert camouflage.
Light Mediterranean Blue was also used in an overseas camouflage scheme for Royal Air Force biplanes (such as the Vickers Vildebeest). This scheme involved camouflaging the upper surfaces with extra dark sea green and dark Mediterranean blue; Dark Sea Green and Light Mediterranean Blue were used on the lower wings for so-called "shadow compensation"; and the lower surfaces were to be painted sky blue.
