Based on the Bloch 170 of 1936, the multi-role Bloch 174 was a three-seat twin-engine combat bomber- scout. The first prototype made its first flight on January 5, 1939. The aircraft showed excellent handling characteristics and good general characteristics. Several other machines remained in service until the end of the Second World War.
