MON-50 is a Soviet anti-personnel mine manufactured in Ukraine under the name PVP-50.
It was developed in the USSR in 1966 as an analogue of the American M18A1 Claymore mine. It is designed to disable the enemy's personnel. Injuries to a person (or several at the same time) when a mine explodes are caused by ready-made lethal elements (540 balls or 485 rollers) flying in the direction of the enemy in a sector beyond the horizon of 54 degrees at a distance of up to 85 meters. The height of the affected sector is from 15 cm to 4 meters at the maximum range. Prohibited by the Ottawa Convention.
