Probably, there is no other tank that arouses so much interest. It is surrounded by a halo of mystery, and facts are mixed with legends. Panzerkampfwagen VIII "MAUS" is a prototype of the German super-heavy tank of the Second World War. It was the heaviest and largest tank ever built. It weighed about 188 tons! The project was carried out in 1942-1944. Only two incomplete prototypes were built, which never entered service. In April 1945, the USSR troops captured both abandoned Maus prototypes located at the Kummersdorf training ground. They were assembled into a car with the body of the first prototype and the tower of the second. This hybrid is still one of the main attractions of the Tank Museum in Kubinka near Moscow.
