Model The Mark II was developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of the Toyota concern, as well as as a completely new car without a direct predecessor. The Toyota Mark II was developed almost from scratch to meet the new regulations and requirements for motor vehicles that appeared in Japan in the late 1960s. The Toyota concern also wanted to introduce a new car in the lower and middle class and take advantage of the possible turbulence associated with the new legislation in the domestic market. The model turned out to be successful and was represented by nine generations, which were mostly equipped with cylinder engines with a volume of 2.0 to 2.5 liters. There were also several body styles, and the Mark II was offered as a 4-door sedan, 5-door station wagon or 2-door coupe.
