Assembled model 1/35 tank IT-1 Missile tank Trumpeter 05541
IT-1 is a tank destroyer of the Cold War era. Design work began in the 1950s, and serial production continued in the period 1968-1973, which ended with the release of about 200-250 machines of this type. The drive was provided by one V-55 engine with a capacity of 581 hp. It was armed with one 2K4 rocket launcher with 3M7 Dragon missiles and one 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.
The IT-1 tank destroyer was created in the wake of the fascination of some officers and Nikita Khrushchev himself with guided missiles. In order to shorten the implementation process, the new machine used the chassis and many elements of the T-62 tank, but instead of the gun, the 2K4 radio-controlled rocket launcher was used as the main weapon. In the course of operation, IT-1 turned out to be a not very successful machine. First, the gunner had to illuminate the target during the entire flight of the 3M7 rocket, which increased the chances of defeating the IT-1. In addition, the car was equipped with means of night combat, but for their effective use, the IT-1 had to approach the enemy's car at a short distance, which also increased the chances of removing the IT-1 from the battle. In the end, the production of these unusual cars was stopped quite quickly, and the cars were taken off the assembly line.
