RELOADING (S 611), the first French nuclear submarine, launched in March 1967, commissioned in 1971, decommissioned in 1991, is currently the largest publicly displayed submarine in the world. The hull is made of high-elastic steel, which allows diving to a depth of more than 200 m. The boat is powered by a KK reactor with enriched uranium and natural water under pressure. Armament includes 16 missiles, comparable to the American Polaris, and 4 torpedo tubes.
