Jaguar E-type is a British sports car introduced to the general public in 1961. Its production lasted from 1961 to 1975 at the Jaguar plant in Coventry, Great Britain.
The E model was designed and launched as a successor to the Jaguar XK150 range. The chief designer of the new car was Malcolm Sayer. However, in many ways the E model was like a racing Jaguar D-Type. Compared to its predecessor, it was radically different in body style and widely understood design, which made the Jaguar E-type widely recognized as one of the most beautiful sports cars of the 20th century. In addition, the car had good aerodynamic characteristics due to its streamlined silhouette. Under the hood, there were lower revs as the drive was still a slightly improved engine from the Jaguar XK series, which was first produced in 1948 and also powered the XK120. During serial production of the E model, it was used in various versions of this engine with a working volume from 3.8 to 5.4 liters and a power of up to 276 hp.
