Renault AG1 was a French passenger car of the early 20th century. The first copies of this car went on sale in 1907. The drive was provided by a single-cylinder two-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.2 liters and a maximum power of 10-12 hp. The total length of the cart was 3.75 meters with a width of 1.55 meters. The maximum speed was about 45 km/h.

Renault AG1 was created as a relatively cheap and easy-to-manufacture passenger car with an open driver's cabin and a closed passenger cabin that could accommodate two people. In 1908-1914, the car became the most popular car among Parisian taxi drivers, who bought about 2,000 cars of this type during this time. The Renault AG1 entered the history of the First World War at the beginning of September 1914, shortly before the Battle of the Marne. At that time, all Paris taxis of this type were captured by the French army and were used to transfer soldiers of the 103rd and 104th infantry regiments from the city almost directly to the front line. Although they housed only about 3,000 soldiers, they quickly became a symbol of French society's determination to fight the German invader. They also began to bear the nickname "Taxi from the Marne" (Fr. Taxi de la Marne).
