PT-588 is an American torpedo boat of the Second World War. The length of the unit was 24.5 meters. The drive was provided by three Packard W-14 M2500 engines with a capacity of 1500 hp each. each one Armament included one 40mm gun, 37mm gun and 2 to 4 533mm torpedoes. PT-588 was built at the Electric Boat Company shipyard in Bayonne, New Jersey. The ship was launched in March 1945, and the unit was commissioned in April of the same year. Immediately after this event, she was assigned to the 39th squadron of torpedo boats of the Pacific Fleet. PT-588 operated in the area of Samar Island from July 1945 until the end of the war, without interacting with the then large Japanese forces. The ship was decommissioned in December 1945. His exact post-war fate is unknown.
