In 1956, France and Great Britain simultaneously began basic research on a supersonic aircraft. In 1961, these studies led to two different projects, which on November 29, 1962 were combined into a single project for the main companies: Aérospatiale, BAC, Rolls-Royce and SNECMA. First prototype 001 left the Toulouse hangar on December 11, 1967. Concorde has already broken records for altitude (21,000 m) and speed (Mach 2.2). On January 21, 1976, a new page in the history of commercial aviation began under the banner of British Airways and Air France.
