France and Great Britain simultaneously began fundamental research on a supersonic aircraft in 1956. These studies led in 1961 to two different projects, which on November 29, 1962 were combined into one project assembled for the main companies: Aérospatiale, BAC, Rolls-Royce and SNECMA. The first prototype 001 left the Toulouse hangar on December 11, 1967. "Concorde" has already broken records for height (21,000 m) and speed (Mach 2.2). On January 21, 1976, a new chapter in the history of commercial aviation began under the banner of British Airways and Air France.
