Mikozhan-Gurevich MIG-21 (NATO: Rybne Lozhe) - Soviet light fighter with a duralumin half-body construction, in a mid-wing configuration, with a 57-degree swept triangle. The flight of the prototype took place on June 16, 1956. The MIG 21 prototype is an E-5 prototype with an RD-11 engine. After his flight, several more prototypes were created, which, by the way, were various international speed records. The experience they gained was used to improve the E-5, and finally in 1959 the aircraft was put into serial production as the MIG-21F-13. More than a dozen basic versions are in production, and together with various diversions, the number of MIG 21 types can be estimated at several dozen! The most important of them is the first serial MIG-21F. It replaced the MIG-21PF version with RP-21 radars and an R-11F2 engine. The next modification is the MiG-21R, a reconnaissance aircraft. Several training variants were also created, the first of which was the MiG-21U-400. The MIG-21 turned out to be a very successful design, excellent characteristics, easy to operate and cheap to manufacture. The quality of the design is evidenced by the fact that even in the 90s, experimental design developments were created for this aircraft, which was more than 30 years old. The car was exported to all countries of the former Warsaw Pact and a number of Arab and African countries. The MIG-21 participated in most armed conflicts of the 1960s and 1980s, including the Vietnam War, the Six-Day War (1967) and the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988). Technical data: length: 13.46 m, wingspan: 7.15 m, height: 4.1 m, maximum speed: 2130 km / h, altitude speed: 120 m / s, maximum range: 1100 km, maximum ceiling 19000 m, armament: fixed - single 23-mm gun GSz -23 (version M), suspended - up to 2000 kg of cargo.
