The Bloch MB.174 is a twin-engine, all-metal, French reconnaissance aircraft and bomber, produced since the beginning of World War II. The flight of the prototype MB.174 took place in January 1939. The plane showed good flight characteristics, but had "childish diseases", including problems with engine cooling. Mainly because of them, as well as due to irregular deliveries of Gnome-Rhone14N 48/49 engines, only 25 copies of this machine were delivered to the line units until May 1940. Another major drawback was that the MB.174 could only carry 400 kg of bombs, which also questioned its combat effectiveness. The great advantage of the design was the high maximum ceiling. After the defeat of France, the MB.174 served mainly in the aviation of the Vichy state. Technical characteristics: Maximum speed: 529 km / h, rate of climb: 12.1 m / s, maximum ceiling 11000 m, maximum range: 1600 km, armament: fixed - 6 machine guns wz. MAC 1 934 caliber 7.5 mm, suspended - up to 400 kg of bombs.
