Italeri 3639 Porsche 935 Baby Sports Car Kit
To participate in FIA-Group 5 car competitions, Porsche has developed a special line of cars, distinguished by special engines and chassis, starting with the production of the famous 911 Turbo. Several versions of this model were released, but one of the most famous was the Porsche 935J. "Baby", as it was called, was built to participate in the German national championship with a 2.0 liter engine capacity (Deutsche Rennwagen Meisterschaft). For this competition, it adopted a lighter chassis through the use of a tubular aluminum space frame. This decision allowed the car to have a total weight of 735 kg, which met the competition weight requirements. The car used an air-cooled 1.425 engine with a capacity of 261 kW. The Porsche 935J scored an important victory at the 1977 German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, proving its excellent engine performance and design features.
