Citroen DS3 is a French passenger car of the so-called class of city cars, which was first presented to the general public in 2009 during the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 2016, but de facto - under the DS Automobiles brand - continues to this day. Production was carried out and continues in the city of Poissy in France and in the Gurun district in Malaysia. The DS3 model was designed and put into production to replace the C2 model in Citroen's range. Its chief designer was Mark Lloyd. Compared to its predecessor, it is very noticeably different in body style, as well as equipment and interior design. Structurally, the car was based mainly on elements of the second generation Citroen C3. Compared to the C2 model, new engines were also used with a similar displacement, but with a higher maximum power. They are also usually characterized by lower fuel consumption. Citroen DS3 is offered in one version of the body: as a 3-door hatchback. The Citroen DS3 WRC version has participated and is participating in numerous car races. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 300 horsepower.
