During this patrol she sank two trawlers, a transport and a freighter, and destroyed two more trawlers by fire before returning to Pearl Harbor. In February 1944, she sank a Coast Guard ship and a freighter before returning to the US base in Guam. Baby Shark was decommissioned on March 16, 1946. For outstanding performance during the Fourth and Eighth Tactical Patrols, Little Shark received the Presidential Medal of Honor and 13 battle stars during her World War II service.
