Assembled model 1/24 car BMW M3 E30 Gr. A 1990 Fuji InterTEC Class Winner NuNu PN24019 BMW won a string of victories when BMW started motorcycle racing in 1925 and has an outstanding record, especially in touring car racing. One of the cars that ushered in the era of BMW Group A touring cars was the BMW M3, based on the E30 3 Series. The BMW M3 E30 was developed by BMW Motorsport GmbH, primarily responsible for BMW's motorsport division, and was designed to compete with the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth. The body was fitted with blister fenders front and rear to accommodate the wider tread and larger tires. To improve aerodynamics, the rear side window was designed at an angle, and a spoiler and a front spoiler were added. Displacing 2.3 liters, the engine was tuned high to produce 300 hp. for maximum power. After this, the Evolution model was also developed and performance was improved, for example increasing the displacement to 2.5 liters. In order to qualify the production volume per year required for Group A homologation rules, In 1987, the BMW M3 E30 received homologation, took part in races and immediately won the DTM and WTCC. The BMW M3 E30 also competed in the SUGO Group A 300 km race in Japan in late 1987 and demonstrated its ability in the Division 2 class, where cars with displacements between 1.6 and 2.5 liters competed. In the Division 2 class, there were no cars to compete with the BMW M3 E30, and each team took one after the other following the Auto Tech Racing M3 team, which was the first to field a BMW M3 E30. In the 1990 season, 9 M3 E30s were entered by 7 teams. Fierce battles between each team captivated the audience.
