The Dewoitine D.510 is a French interwar and World War II fighter. The car was built in a low-wing configuration, had a metal structure and a classic - fixed undercarriage. The flight of the prototype took place in 1934, and serial production continued in 1935-1939. The drive was provided by one Hispano-Suiza HS-12 Ybrs engine with a capacity of 860 hp. Deck armament consisted of one 20-mm gun and two 7.5-mm machine guns. The Dewoitine D.510 was designed and manufactured by the Société Aeronautique Francaise (Avions Dewoitine) in connection with the desire of the French military aviation in the early 1930s to create a low-flying fighter that would have much better aerodynamic properties and better performance than the existing high-flying aircraft and a biplane. In 1932, the then successful Dewoitine C.500 aircraft was created and, despite the decision to put it into production, the company decided to improve it and increase its characteristics - as a result of research and development, the D.510 was created. The machine quickly entered service with the French Air Force under the designation D.510 C1 and was successful in international markets, being exported, in particular, to China, Spain, Japan and Venezuela. Machines of this type took part in the French campaign in the summer of 1940, and their tasks were mainly limited to patrolling.
