All-wheel drive cars of the G506 series began to be produced by Chevrolet from the end of 1939. These 1.5-ton trucks had six-cylinder gasoline engines with a volume of 3.9 liters. and with a capacity of 83 hp. In the army, the cargo versions of the cars received the designation G7107 (variant without a winch) and G7117 (with a winch). Most of the cars of these modifications were delivered to the Allies as part of the lend-lease program. They were used to transport personnel and cargo, and also served as platforms for various equipment. A rather unusual option was a truck of the British army G7117, converted into a mobile field chapel and intended for worship in the field. Inside the closed body was a small walking altar with equipment necessary for the service, and a harmonium could also be located there. Such a car, in particular, was seen in the location of British units fighting on the territory of North Africa in 1943.
