Collectible model 1/35 German train Lokomotive BR86 Trumpeter 00217
BR 86 (another designation: DRB 86) is a series of steam locomotives (steam locomotives) produced in the period 1928-1943. Production was carried out by a dozen or so contractors, including in companies such as Schichau, Krupp, Borsig and Henschel. During the Second World War, Poznań was also occupied by the Germans at the HCP factories (Hipolit Cegielski factory). In total, about 780 locomotives of this type were built. The service weight of a single locomotive was 88.5 tons, and the length was 13.82 m. The locomotive in White's designations had a 2-8-2t system.

Steam locomotives The BR 86s were designed as so-called standardized or standard steam locomotives (German: Einheitsdampflokomotive), which meant that although they were produced in different factories, they shared many components, especially when it came to the steam engine. This solution significantly reduced operating costs and shortened the time for possible repairs. Steam locomotives BR 86 were created primarily for freight transportation, which, of course, determined the main design assumptions. In the period 1942-1943, the design of the locomotive was simplified to speed up the production process. Many of them were adopted and adapted for the needs of the West and East German railways after 1945. A number of BR 86 steam locomotives were also used by PKP (under the designation TkT3) and Austrian railway lines.
