Dolphin I is a German prototype miniature submarine of the end of World War II. The length of the ship was 5.4 meters and the width was 1.01 meters. The maximum underwater speed was about 15 knots, the surface speed was up to 19 knots. The estimated maximum diving depth was 30 meters. The first designs of the ship, called Dolphin I, were created in late 1944, and the first prototypes were released for testing in January 1945. This miniature submarine was built for use by the Kriegsmarine and its main purpose was to carry torpedo attacks from an underwater position on Allied shipping, especially in the English Channel. During its design, special emphasis was placed on achieving the maximum possible underwater speed, which was largely achieved. A total of three prototypes of this ship were built, but none of them survived to the end of the war. "Dolphin" (Polish "dolphin") is a prototype of a German miniature submarine of the Second World War. The ship was 5.4 meters long, its own weight was 2.8 tons. Surface speed was up to 19 knots, and underwater - up to 15 knots. The maximum diving depth did not exceed 30 meters. The ship was armed with one torpedo. A total of three prototypes of this type were built. The Dolphin was designed in 1944, but by the end of the Second World War, it did not have time to go into mass production. It was built with the intention of conducting underwater attacks on enemy ships and ships - especially in the English Channel and North Sea area. During its design, maximum emphasis was placed on achieving high underwater speed. The first prototypes were lost in January 1945 in a collision with a boat, and the other two were re-based the same year from Berlin to Petenitz in what is now Schleswig-Holstein, where they were destroyed in the face of the offensive. Union troops. Until now, none of the built ships of the "Dolphin" type have survived.
