SS-100 Gigant is a German heavy wheeled tractor of the interwar period and the Second World War. The first civilian examples of this car appeared in 1936-1937, and serial production lasted - with interruptions - from 1937 to 1950. The car was equipped with one 8.5-liter D85S engine with a power of 100 hp. The SS-100 Gigant was originally developed by Hanomag for the civilian market as a heavy-duty tractor capable of transporting cargo weighing up to 20 tons. However, its characteristics and capabilities very quickly attracted the attention of the German armed forces, which quickly acquired such machines. They were successfully used for transporting very important cargo, as well as transport vehicles for towing Luftwaffe aircraft on heavy landings. The SS-100 Gigant was also often used to transport V-2 rockets. The popularity of cars of this type was so great that during the war their licensed production was launched at the Bussing plant in Vydnia. After the end of the Second World War, their production began very quickly and lasted until 1950, intended for the civilian market.
