The UAZ-469 SUV was developed in the late 1960s. Serial production began in 1972 and lasted until 2007! In 2010, it was restarted at the Ulyanovsk plant. UAZ-469 was equipped with one R4 engine with a capacity of 70 hp. and a volume of 2.4 liters. It also had a 4-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive (4x4). The UAZ-469 SUV was created as a successor to the GAZ-69. Compared to its predecessor, it was characterized, first of all, by a more powerful engine, better suspension, while maintaining the same high level of reliability of the entire structure. Thanks to such constructive qualities, the UAZ-469 was used not only by parts of the Soviet Army or Warsaw Pact forces, but also by numerous military services of communist countries during the Cold War. In addition, the UAZ-469 participated in almost all armed conflicts after 1970, especially in the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989). The resumption of production in 2010 - also for the civilian market - is a good testament to the build quality of the late 1960s!
