PzKpfw VI Tiger I, "Tiger" is a German heavy tank of the Second World War, developed in 1941-1942 by the company "Henschel" under the leadership of Erwin Aders. In the departmental classification of the armored vehicles of Nazi Germany, it was also designated as Sd Kfz 181. For the first time, "Tiger I" tanks took part in combat operations in September 1942 near the Mha station near Leningrad, and began to be used massively from the battle on the Kursk arc, were used by the Wehrmacht and SS troops until the end of the Second World War. At the time of its creation, the machine had the strongest armament and armor among all tanks in the world; this situation remained at least until November 1943. The tank was originally called PzKpfw VI Ausf. H "Tiger", but after the adoption of the new heavy tank of the same name PzKpfw VI Ausf. B, the Roman numeral "I" was added to the name to distinguish it from the later machine, which in turn was called "Tiger II". Although small changes were made to the design, there was only one modification of the tank, the early and late model designation PzKpfw VI Ausf. H and PzKpfw VI Ausf. E entered purely for administrative and accounting purposes. In Soviet documents, the Tiger tank was designated as T-6 (or T-VI).
