Tiran-4 is an Israeli tank of the post-war period. The first machines of this type appeared in service after 1967. The Tiran 4 tank was armed with one 100 mm gun and two Browning machine guns of 7.62 and 12.7 mm caliber. As a result of the huge military success of Israel - the Six-Day War (1967), a huge amount of captured military equipment fell into the hands of the armed forces of this country - including hundreds of T-54 and T-55 tanks. (mainly Egyptian). Soon after the end of hostilities, the Israeli army decided to use them for its own purposes and modernize accordingly. This is how the "Tiran" family of carts was created, one of the first representatives of which is "Tiran-4". Compared to the original T-54, it initially differed in details, for example, new additional weapons, a large number of tanks with a large number of handles on the tower. However, in the Tiran-4Sh version, the machine received a new 105-mm gun (instead of a 100-mm gun), a new antenna base, a new infrared observation device or a new SKO (fire control system). "Tirant-4" cars were used in combat operations during the so-called war of attrition (1967-1970) and the Doomsday war (1973).
