BA-10 is a medium six-wheeled armored vehicle of Soviet design. The first prototypes were built in 1938, and series production continued from 1938 to 1941, culminating in the production of more than 3,300 cars. The car was equipped with a GAZ-M1 carburetor engine with a capacity of 52 hp. The main armament was 20K wz. 1934 or 1938 of 45 mm caliber was placed in the rotary tower, and auxiliary weapons were provided by 2 DT machine guns of 7.62 mm caliber. The BA-10 was created as a successor, but also as a far-reaching development of the BA-6. The new car also uses the chassis of the GAZ-AAA truck, but uses a new engine and numerous new transmission components. BA-10 armor (up to 10 mm thick) was all-welded. In 1939-1940, the work was continued and the modernized version of the BA-10M was put into production. The mass of the machine was increased due to the increase in armor and a new model of the 20K gun was used. BA-10 machines in the period before 1941 were the main machines of Soviet intelligence units. They were also widely used in the war with Japan (1938-1939) and in the Battle of Khalchyn Gol (1939). They also participated in the aggression against Poland in September 1939 and in the Winter War with Finland (1939-1930). In the first months of the war with Germany in 1941, the Red Army lost a large number of these machines, which were later used by parts of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS to fight partisans in the occupied territories.
