BA-6 is a medium six-wheeled armored vehicle of Soviet design. The first prototypes were built in 1935, and serial production lasted from 1935 to 1938/1939 and ended with the release of about 390 cars. The car was equipped with a GAZ-AA carburetor engine with a capacity of 40 horsepower. The main armament was 20K wz. 1932 of 45 mm caliber, and the auxiliary weapons were 2 DT machine guns of 7.62 mm caliber. BA-6 was created as a successor to BA-3. In the new machine, they tried to preserve the advantages of the predecessor (powerful main armament) in the absence of its main shortcomings (low maneuverability and high failure rate of the engine and transmission). For this, the new GAZ-AAA chassis (a licensed copy of the Ford chassis), an enlarged track and a strengthened gearbox design were used. However, the characteristics of the car have deteriorated. Despite this, the BA-6 was put into mass production. In its course, two main versions of the development were created: BA-6ZH (adapted to travel on rails) and BA-6M (a machine with a new engine, a new tower and thickened armor). The VA-6 cars had their baptism of fire in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Later, they also fought against the Japanese in the Battle of Khalchyn Gol (1939), took part in the aggression against Poland in September 1939 and in the Winter War with Finland. A huge number of them were lost by the Red Army in the first months of the war with Germany in 1941.
