C18S "Magic in the Moonlight" One of the most successful and famous aircraft in the history of world aviation was the Beech Model 18, nicknamed Twin Beech. It was designed as a light twin-engine 6-8 seater light passenger aircraft. The maiden flight was in January 1937. With the entry of the United States into World War II, the Army Air Force began to feel the need for a light military transport aircraft. In 1943, Beechcraft received an order for the production of 1,522 improved C18S aircraft. One of these aircraft is now in civilian use
