He 111H-8 Paravane
German aircraft of the Second World War In July 1940, the Battle of Britain began. This was the name given to the German military operation aimed at conquering the airspace over the south of England. According to the intentions of the German command, this was supposed to undermine the fighting spirit of the British people. To protect the airspace over large cities, the British used barrier balloons with stretched cables. To break through these barriers, the Luftwaffe Air Force used modified aircraft on which special steel structures with cutters were installed. Such cutters were also called screens - by analogy with devices for protection against sea mines. Among the converted aircraft were He 111 bombers, this modification was designated He 111H-8. Piloting such aircraft was quite difficult, as the massive design of the screen worsened the flight characteristics of the aircraft. Some of these aircraft were lost during 1941, and those that remained were later used as conventional bombers. – Bomber model equipped with an original system of protection against barrage balloons.
– The possibility of building the plane as a conventional bomber with bombs is preserved.
– Decals include 3 variants of He 111H-8 aircraft with cutter screens.
