The Lockheed DL-1 / Y1C Vega is an American single-engine mixed-engine passenger aircraft with a metal skin and umbrella wings. The flight of the prototype took place in 1927, and soon after that at the Lockheed plant in Los Angeles, mass production began, which ended with the release of 128 copies. In 1930, the DL-1 was sent to the USAAC for testing. The plane became famous thanks to Wilkins' flight over the Arctic from Alaska to Svalbard on April 22, 1928.
