[Includes] : Decals and Photo Etching Kinetic has retrofitted their F/A-18C with a set of vibrant VFA-27 Royal Maces decals for 1999, 2002 and 2003 aircraft. The set contains about 200 gray plastic parts, 21 transparent parts, 22 photo-etched metal parts and markings for six aircraft. Excellent surface detail with a combination of very fine crisp panel lines and rows of rivets. Embossed details are also present as needed. The fuselage is a horizontal split structure with the upper fuselage containing the upper wing surfaces to which the lower wings and additional nose sections are added. The intakes are full length, the set includes two closed cans with burners. Several sources have confirmed that this is the appropriate configuration for a parked F/A-18. Cabin details are good out of the box, for both single and double versions. The wheel detail molded to the main parts looks awesome. Control surfaces including leading edge flaps and upper fuselage speed brake are supplied separately and can be fitted to taste. The kit's photo-etched finish includes parts for chaff dispensers, scope mounts, dome handles/mirrors, and more. The transparent parts are beautiful, thin and have no distortion. However, there is a raised center seam on the dome and parts of the windshield that will need to be scraped and sanded. The royal maces are marked on a colorful decal sheet printed by Cartograf and designed by Fightertown Decals, so you can be sure they're good! This is a very attractive choice for the F/A-18C Hornet
