The Hainan, the first amphibious assault ship of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy, was launched in 2019. It boasts a displacement comparable to that of the United States' Wasp-class ships, a capacity of around 1,600 troops and is said to be able to carry 30 helicopters. The third ship of this class is now launched, and the first two ships are currently in service.
