The OV-10D+ attack and surveillance aircraft is a version of the OV-10A Bronco. The modification was carried out at the Naval Aviation Refurbishment Center (NARF). The changes affected the engine, the composition of on-board electronic systems, communication systems, the airframe of the aircraft and the cockpit equipment. One of the features of this modification was also the installation of a new FLIR infrared system under the elongated nose, and laser target pointers were also located here. Devices for protection against surface-to-air missiles were mounted in the tail beams. The advanced capabilities of the aircraft allowed solving a wide range of tasks, which included the observation of ground targets and the guidance of strike aircraft, both during the day and at night. At the same time, the aircraft retained the function of an attack aircraft, and could, if necessary, strike ground targets. OV-IOD+ aircraft were used by the US Marine Corps in Operation DESERT STORM in 1991.
