BA-3 is a medium six-wheeled armored vehicle of Soviet design. The first prototypes were built in 1934, and a short production run ran from 1934 to 1935, culminating in the production of around 180 cars. The car was equipped with a GAZ-A carburetor engine with a capacity of 40 horsepower. The main armament was 20K wz. 1932 caliber 45 mm was placed in a rotating tower, and auxiliary weapons were provided by 2 DT machine guns of caliber 7.62 mm. The BA-3 was created as a successor to the BA-I car. In the new machine, special emphasis was placed on thickening the armor and the use of powerful main weapons. As a result, the turret of the T-26 tank model of 1933 was installed on the new car. The adopted BA-3 was one of the most heavily armed armored vehicles in the world at the time of its debut, but it was distinguished by terrible off-road characteristics, low maneuverability and obvious overloading of the chassis and power transmission units. . Already in 1938, the command of the Red Army recognized the machine as obsolete and unusable. Despite this, the BA-3 fought against the Japanese in the Battle of Khalchyn Gol (1939), took part in the aggression against Poland in September 1939 and in the Winter War with Finland (1939-1930). BA-3s that survived these campaigns were executed by the Red Army in the first months of the war with Germany in 1941.
