Prefab model 1/72 set of two models medium Self-propelled installation M40 75/18 Italeri 7519 The Semovente M40 75/18, developed by Fiat Ansaldo, was used by the Royal Army from late 1941 in North Africa and was used throughout the Second World War. Although it was designed on the obsolete M13/40 tank chassis, it was the only mass-produced Italian armored vehicle that posed a serious threat to Allied vehicles. Its 75mm casemate gun had good firepower and was effective against even the most advanced Allied tanks such as the Sherman. However, a good gun could not compensate for too light armor and a not very powerful and reliable engine, derived directly from the M13/40 tank. "Semovente" was used, in particular, by the armored divisions of Ariete and Littorio in North Africa, and also, in the following years, by the departments of the Social Republic.
