One of the objects of this concept was the Do 17 twin-engine bomber, developed by the German company Dornier Flugz eugwerke. From the beginning of 1939, Do 17Z aircraft were produced with a new Waffenkopf-type nose and Bramo 323 Fafnir air-cooled engines. In 1939-1940, about 500 Do 17Z-1 and Do 17Z-2 bombers were produced. They participated in all Luftwaffe operations of 1939-1941. These aircraft were also transferred to Finland.
