FW 189A-2 The Focke-Wulf Fw 189A Uhu ("Owl") was a German twin-engine, twin-engine, three-seat tactical reconnaissance and engagement aircraft of the Army. It entered service with the Luftwaffe in 1940 and was produced until mid-1944. A total of 845 serial aircraft were produced. The FW 189A-2 modification had a defensive armament of two MG 81Z machine guns. The Fw 189A, dubbed the "Flying Eye" of the German Army, was widely used on the Eastern Front with great success. His Russian nickname was "Rama" ("Rama"), referring to his characteristic tail arrow shape.
