The Hawker Typhoon was a British single-seat, single-engine, low-wing metal semi-armored attack aircraft of World War II. Developed in accordance with the requirements of the British Ministry of Defense in the specification F.18 / 37 of 1937 by the famous designer Sydney Kamm. The flight of the prototype took place on February 24, 1940, and serial production of the machine began in 1941. The aircraft were equipped with three variants of the Napier Saber Mk.II engine, which had a speed of 2180 km to 2260 km. There were five versions of this aircraft. The first two are F.Mk.IA and F.Mk.Ib fighters, which differ mainly in onboard weapons. AI Mk.IV and radar fighter Hawker Typhoon FR Mk IB - reconnaissance version. Dealing with initial design problems, especially engine deficiencies, the Hawker Typhoon also had great success against V1 shells and German tanks during the Normandy battles. More than 3,300 copies were produced in total. II 20-mm guns, suspended - up to 908 kg of bombs, 8 RP-3 rockets.
