The truck was developed in the USA in 1935 as a successor to the Ford BB, and had a 3.6L water-cooled V8 engine with a maximum power of 90 hp. The Ford V8-51 was produced from 1937 to 1939 at the Cologne-Neil plant by Germany's Ford Motor Company AG and was available with a flatbed body, a wagon body, and an open driver's cab for military use.
