The M4 Sherman is an American medium tank of World War II. The first prototypes were built in 1941, and serial production was carried out in the period 1942-1945. A total of about 49,000 examples of this tank of all versions were built, making it one of the most produced tanks of the Second World War and the most important tank in service with the Allied armies during this conflict. The M4 Sherman was equipped with a single-engine version of the M4A1 Continental R 975 C4 with a capacity of 400 hp. The machine was armed - depending on the version - with one 75mm M3 gun or 76mm M1 gun or 105mm M4 howitzer and two 7.62mm Browning1919A machine guns.
