Schinen-Sparwagen (abbreviated: S.sp) is a German self-propelled armored personnel carrier of World War II. Dresina was developed in 1944 and in the same year its serial production began. Depending on the modification, the armament could have a different configuration, but most often it consisted of large-caliber and light machine guns and mortars. The maximum speed reached 40 km/h. The Schinen-Sparwagen train was designed for independent reconnaissance operations, transporting infantry, but could also be part of armored trains, composed mainly of this type of trains. The train was covered with armor up to 20 mm thick, and its weight reached 18 tons. It should be added that the combat capabilities of the Schinen-Sparwagen were similar to the BP-42 dreizin. Since November 1944, the S.sp drainers took part mainly in the battles in the Balkans.
