HMMWV (English: the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), also known as the Humvee, is an all-wheel drive military vehicle manufactured by the American company AM General.

Since its adoption by the US armed forces in the 1980s, various modifications have been created on the basis of the Humvee: the main military vehicle, a light truck, an ambulance, mobile radar and air defense systems, engineering and armored vehicles, etc.

During the Gulf War, the Humvee became so popular that AM General released a civilian modification under the Hummer brand, the rights to which the company sold to General Motors Corporation in 1999, and which is currently represented by three models: H1, H2 and H3.
