The M51A2 5-ton 6x6 Dump Gun Truck is a modified version of the American 5-ton military dump truck M51A2 of the M39 series, which was actively used by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 1960s and 1970s. Initially, the M51A2 was a dump truck (Dump Truck) with a 6x6 wheel arrangement designed for transporting bulk materials and engineering support. However, in Vietnam, to protect supply convoys from ambushes and attacks, engineering units began to convert these dump trucks into so-called "Gun Trucks" (armed trucks). The "Dump Gun Truck" modification involved the installation of additional armor protection and heavy weapons (usually twin .50 caliber M2HB machine guns), which were placed in a dump truck body equipped with armor plates. This made the vehicle highly effective for escort and defense. The M51A2, due to its reliability and power, provided by the Continental LDS-465-1 engine, became one of the symbols of military logistics of that era.
