Mitsubishi Lancer is a Japanese passenger car, originally lower middle class and now middle class, manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors. The car was first presented to the public in 1972 at the Tokyo Motor Show. Its production began a year later and continues to this day for the Taiwanese and Chinese markets. During this period, it was held in several cities around the world, including Kurashiki in Japan, Normal in the US, and Taoyuan in Taiwan. The Lancer model was developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of Mitsubishi Motors, as well as to fill the gap in this offer that was formed between the Minica model (a sports car intended for the Japanese market) and the Galant, i.e. middle and above middle class cars. The car turned out to be quite successful and became famous for its high reliability from the beginning. The reputation of this model was enhanced by the 1600GSR version, which achieved numerous successes in car rallies in the 1970s. It is worth adding that subsequent versions of the Lancer also continued this glorious tradition, started by the 1600GSR version. All this meant that the management of Mitsubishi Motors decided to continue the production and improvement of this model. The latest, VIII generation Lancer model was introduced in 2007 and was produced until 2016.
