In war, appeals to higher forces become very necessary, and here representatives of the spiritual service - military chaplains - are needed. They mourn the fallen, hold religious services and prepare the soldiers before the battle, fulfilling their task of being there and supporting the morale of the soldiers. During the Second World War, military chaplains were part of the armies of many countries, and they were part of the British armed forces. The Department of British military chaplains (Army Chaplains Department) was created back in 1796, and starting from February 1919, it began to bear the name Royal Army Chaplains' Department (RAChD). In World War II, British military chaplains performed their duties selflessly in all theaters of war. 96 British chaplains and 38 Commonwealth Army chaplains died in the line of duty.
