AC-2 was a Soviet mobile aircraft launcher of the interwar period and World War II. Serial production of this car began in 1936. The length of the car without special equipment was about 5.34 meters with a width of 2.04 meters. Drive was provided by one 3.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. The maximum speed was about 60-65 km/h. The AS-2 special car was created on the basis of the GAZ-AAA truck. The main task of the AS-2 machine was to start aircraft engines at airfields in winter conditions. The engine start mechanism was located in the front of the car, had a very simple design and was controlled manually. Due to its simplicity, it worked very well at extremely low temperatures and performed its tasks. AS-2 machines were used to launch the engines of aircraft: Polikarpov I-15 or I-16, Il-2 Il-2 or Bell P-63 Kingcobra. The car was used on a relatively large scale even before the beginning of the Second World War.
