1:350 scale model ship HMS Coventry Type 42 Guided Missile Destroyer Batch I Fore Art 3002

HMS Coventry (D118) is a British Type 42 (Batch I) guided missile destroyer commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1978 as a specialist air defence ship. Her main armament was the Sea Dart anti-aircraft missile system and the 114 mm Mark 8 universal artillery mount. The destroyer gained its greatest fame during the 1982 Falklands War, where she played a key role in protecting the British fleet from air attacks, but was tragically lost on 25 May after being hit by unguided aerial bombs from Argentine A-4 Skyhawk attack aircraft.
